Different Communities

For my critical thinking piece I chose my community discussion board 2 Blaxicans and Other Reinvented Americans. To analysis something means the, “examination of something in detail in order to understand it better or draw conclusions from it.” So while examining the reading I was asked to read I tried to understand what the author was trying to get across to his readers. A quote in the reading, "Culture is fluid. Culture is smoke. You breathe it. You eat it." (pg. 123) When analyzing this quote I drew some conclusions from it. I mentioned that, “This relates to his argument about assimilation because immigrants enter America and they adapt to the cultures that take place in America.” In my post I try to understand why the author wrote what he did. So now when I read a story or someone’s writing I try to think to myself why is this being written. It is easier to talk about what you are reading if you understand it.
